This word is being loosely used today to describe President Trump and all of us who supported him.
It is a hopeless misjudgment to think that one could force a dictatorial regime upon the German nation. […] The diversity of the German people calls for democracy.
Welcome to America 2017
President Trump has been called Hitler, Mussolini, racist to name only a few. Let us look a little deeper into history told from a perspective of someone whose mother grew up under the regime of Hitler. Let us go back into time and see if indeed Donald J. Trump is a fascist, is like Hitler. Lets us look to see if history is repeating itself.
My mother was born in Schweinfurt Germany, Oct 3, 1928. She came from a family who worked hard, were a good Christian family. Her family consisted of a sister and five brothers but the end of the war she would have only a sister and two brothers left.
When Hitler was running for Chancellor he was very charismatic. He promised the people a Volkswagen at every house more or less. To grow the economy, grow the army, make Germany strong again. Yes same as we hear from the right, however, the differences were Hitler hated the Jews and anyone who disagreed with a vengeance.
At the time my mom was a child Germany was a happy beautiful place to grow up in. The German people are very clean, on Saturdays you would see them out all sweeping the streets. Those children such as my mom and aunt who were from a poor family would be sent to the Alps to stay with families to get out of the cities. My mom remembers that she was fortunate enough to be placed with a family who owned a bakery and her days spent there.
As Hitler grew in power, my family saw the Jews being taken from their homes in Schweinfurt, they were told they were being deported. They had no idea until after the war the horrific death camps they were being brought to. Things started to get worse, there was violence in the streets. The Brownshirts, Hitler’s army of former soldiers who would disrupt opposition rallies, cause violence in the streets and blame it on the opposition and the Jews to stir up the people. To start a war with Poland, Hitler took some Jews from the camps fatten them up to put Polish uniforms on them and brought them to the Polish border shot them and said Poland was at fault. He used this lie to invade Poland.
It got to a point where you did not speak above a whisper if you dislike or disagree with the Nazi party for fear your neighbors would turn you in. My moms neighbor who had a handicapped child won an award for having a perfect family. This child was not taken away as many other disabled children were because the family was supporters of the Nazi regime others were not so fortunate.
Her brothers were taken at a very young age to work in the factories, my grandmother had no say in the matter. Her two older brothers were taken to fight against the Russians on the front and were both killed.
My mother in her teen years refuse to go to the youth meetings, she rather go to the movies. Twice she was sent to the Gestapo’s office. He would walk around her in a circle telling her “good little German girls didn’t be earrings” he warned her the next time she did not go to the meeting she would be sent away. Was she afraid yes but not enough to listen? One night she went to the movies and stay out after the countries curfew. She was spotted by the brown shirts and chased down the street, she ducked into an apartment building and hid until they passed. She was a bold one.
My great-uncle my grandmother’s brother was in a pub and spoke too loudly against Hitler never to be seen again. My grandfather went to the Gestapo and inquired about his brother-in-law. A few months later they came to the house with a box of ashes and said he passed away in jail. After the war, they wondered how many bodies were in the ashes and even if any of it was her uncle.
My mother remembers the sirens going off at night as they all ran into the bomb shelters, seeing the dead on the streets who were not as lucky to escape the nightly bombings from the Americans.
Ok, you ask so what does this have to do with today, with fascism with what the left is doing. Simple what you are seeing from the left is exactly how Hitler started. Slandering his opposition, not allowing anyone to have another opinion. Inciting violence, shutting down any voice that was not in agreement No one is being hauled up to death camps, not yet the left does not hold that much power.
My mother who was a witness to a fascist regime saw with Obama how the tides were turning here in America. She would often say “he reminds me of Hitler.” His mannerism, his looking down at the people and his condescending voice. His alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood, Hitler also aligned himself with Islam as they had a common hatred towards the Jews. As a matter of fact, the second best seller to this day in Iran other than the Koran is Mein Kampf by Hitler! Not a coincidence.
You are seeing groups from the left who call themselves Antifa who claim to be anti-fascist; however, they are the epitome of fascism. We are seeing riots in the streets, history being rewritten. Racism used as a tool to discredit the right even if it’s a lie!
We are witnessing the beginnings of the silencing of the opposition, taking down statues and rewriting the history of this country. A few who are usurping the will of the people just as my mother saw in Nazi Germany.
